Dear Parents,

Happy Thanksgiving! And soon Merry Christmas! Yes, it is coming
soon and I would like to tell you about the Christmas Concert. Mark
your calendars, let the family know and prepare to be entertained on
Thursday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m. The 5th grade band, Spirit
Singers and all the elementary will be involved in this concert. It
will be held once again at the city auditorium in downtown Hastings.

This year the children will be presenting the “NUTCRACKER” and will
need the following articles for their costumes: (Please make sure
all items are marked with their name.)

Kindergarten: a medium sized teddy bear (I have some to loan) and a
Santa hat
1st grade: The hats are being made, they should wear nice clothes.
2nd grade: Nice concert clothes, no jeans.
3rd grade: Wear nice clothes (no jeans) and a Santa hat.
4th grade: They need a medium plastic bowl and either a wooden
spoon or a spatula. Wear nice clothes, other parts of the costume
are being made.
5th grade: BOYS: Find out from your son if they are a soldier or in
the mouse army. Soldiers will wear a long sleeved white shirt and
the blue uniform pants. Vests are being prepared. Mouse army will
wear black sweat or wind pants, and a black tee shirt. Tails and
ears are being made. All the boys will also be involved in an
Arabian dance and costumes are being prepared.
GIRLS: Anyone interested in sewing some simple skirts, please let
me know. They need to wear a pastel colored tee shirt.
Spirit Singers: Full costume. Please check your child’s Spirit
Singer schedule for performance days.

I certainly appreciate everyone’s help in making this concert a
success. We are in the process of making memories of a wonderful
Christmas season for your child! If you have any questions, please
call the school. Thank you and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Musically yours,

Mindy Phillips
